Paula and Dennis Lofstrom- International Health Partners (U.S. and IHP-JEMA-TZ)

International Health Partners is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to improve health care in Tanzania,  one of Africa’s poorest countries.  They have 2 hospitals and are currently working on building a third on 64 acres.  There are 140 newborns  that die on a daily basis.

They are fortunate to have one of the only digital x-ray and ultrasound machines which was a gift from Rotary International.  Most people don’t realize how big Africa is, you can fit the United States in it three times.  Tanzania is the  size of CA, Nevada and Oregon combined.  Thirty four percent of the children suffer from malnutrition and have iron deficient anemia.  Higher education is offered to anyone who works for foundation, 96% of money donated goes directly to the non-profit.

How you can help: remember us in your prayers and help us to find venues to tell the story.  Please visit: WWW.IHPTZ.ORG

Next meeting: January 21st
