Announcements:

Dave announced the Multicultural Heritage and Black History Celebration in Capay Valley, Guinda Grange Hall will be February 13, 10 am to 5 pm. He requests that guest bring a side dish, the main course will hopefully be provided. There will be historic exhibits, singing, and music. He needs Luna Vistans to help set up the Grange Hall on Feb. 12 at 6-8 pm, sign up with Dave. There is also a need to help on Feb. 13, not only enjoy the festivities, but help organize and clean up, sign up with Dave. Clarence expressed his appreciation to the club and passed out fliers.

Ute and Charlene -Concert update, sponsorship letters to go out soon. It will be at 2:00pm at Opera House on March 20.

Dexter - raffle update, winners will be picked the day of the concert. Still need groups to sell tickets, there are problems getting traction with groups but it is still a go. He is especially targeting sporting groups and boosters. Contact Dexter if you can help. Tickets will be available February 1.

Work day to assemble benches at the fairgrounds has been postponed.

Community harvests – local this Sat. 9 am parking lot at Raleys, Togo’s. There will be an email at 8 am if it is canceled.

Group tour of the new court house by Dave, can do additional tours as well. Meet at 5:15 in front of the court house for a short tour. All are to arrive at the community center at 6:15 pm for the meeting, as there is a speaker scheduled.

Birthday night – Celebrating Doug and Susan January Birthdays.

Brewfest - Tom reported there will be a meeting Jan. 20 6:30 at Tom’s house for anyone interested in joining the Brewfest committee.

Program:

Robert introduced Peter Pastoor, a traveler, radio host, poet, originally from Holland. He grew up in grew up in Canada until 9th grade then his family moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. He only attended school up to the 9th grade, struggled with ADHD, but got accepted to college! He left college, met his wife Jeanne and her father helped him get into the milling machine business. He eventually worked his way up to sales and marketing manager for the Far East, especially early China. He changed his career to be home more and to spend more time with poetry, photography, and start living! He choose Davis because of his son who needed a place to ride his bike. He spent 20 years in sales in California. He retired in Davis to spend time in the arts and get involved in the community. Peter began writing poetry, organizing music nights, working with radio stations, loving listening to local musicians. Peter read us some of his poems. He invited his friend Naomi Hefley to play her violin for us.
