Our next meeting will be March 11th with Gary Pearce presenting his program entitled "A Visit to the Campbell-Reynolds Farm in the UK.

Janet Newcomer from the Medina Rotary Club gave an informative program on the Akron Canton Regional Foodbank.  We learned that an estimated 1,020 (18.3%) food insecure children live in Carroll County, that the Foodbank serves 8 counties and works with 600 partner agencies, and that when the Pantry is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, wrap around services are available to shoppers.  Stark County Foodbank, which opened in 2021, serves 300 families every MWF.  We are invited to tour the facility and can schedule with Janet.  There is a mobile or pop up pantry that can be scheduled for a church or school parking lot. Volunteers are always needed to help sort food, providing organizations with potential service projects. Anyone can start a local food pantry, and the Foodbank will work with those interested to get it going.
