Our newest member Jonathan "Jon" introduced himself recently. Born to parents who immigrated to Canada in the mid-1950's, Jon was born here in Ottawa and has lived here most of his life. His father was a research scientist, his mom was a nurse. Spending time at the cottage he and his siblings loved the water. Jon became a Naval officer. Being a quick learner, school didn't interest him much in the earlier days, but has since become an education "junkie", earning a PolySci degree, CPA and completed military leadership training. Jon loves learning about history, social sciences and geography. He joined the federal government in the mid-1980's working in several departments (DND, Health Canada, Agriculture, etc). Retiring in May 2018, he got bored and started consulting, then formed his own company providing financial advice and insurance. He married 6 years ago to Natalie, an HR specialist, who he met at the Food Inspection Agency. Jon strives to be positive, discplined and focused on results, also to be non-judgmental of others.
