May 14, 2022 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Today we will meet at our adopted Fallingbrook Park (681 Deancourt) at 10 a.m. to do our semi-annual cleanup. You may want to wear gloves and a container to hold the items found in the park. We will have bags to consolidate all garbage. We will also collect donated food items to support Janice Beaver's Interact Club's Food Bank initiative; they will aim at collecting 3 boxes of food, we are aiming at 2 boxes, as requested. I found a list of suggested items desired by Food Banks: applesauce, canned beans, canned chicken/fish/vegetables, cooking oil (olive, canola), crackers, dried herbs or spices, fruit (canned/dried), granola bars, instant mashed potatoes, meals in a box (e.g. pasta, rice, soup kits), nuts, pasta, peanut butter, canned soup/stew/chili, powdered milk, or whole grain cereals. Please consider bringing a donation(s) of food for this worthy cause. If you are unable to be there that day, you could drop off things to Xavier.

This event will take place at Hiawatha Park that is situated between Voyageur Drive and Orléans Blvd. near the river. Parking: I have scouted the area and the closest and most convenient street to park on is Beauchamp. You can set your GPS to 936 Beauchamp. There are four parking spots right at the entry of the park and if those are full you can park on the street.
I have also had a few questions:
The park has a lot to offer for people of all ages so bring your children/grandchildren and friends. Let's make this a real family event. What you can do: Splash pad; play structure with swings etc.; Volley ball net; Basketball Crt. And for those who want to stay there will be yoga in the park at 7pm. And of course you can just sit and visit. What to bring besides you family:
Please register soon if you plan to attend and if there any other questions please don't hesitate to email me by replying to this email. Julia

It is imperative that you learn the certification process and ensure that the club has sufficient certified individuals. The President, President-Elect, Treasurer, Foundation Chair, Community Service Chair, International Service Chair are essential for the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), even though only 2 or 3 (depending on the type of grant) are required to attend a session. It would be best if the International Chair and/or Grant Champion-Project Lead were one of the attendees...but, we hope many of your club members choose one of our 3 in-peron sessions in order to have the majority of your club truly know the possibilities.

Louisa Horne is from District 7820 - Rotary Club of Halifax Harbourside in Nova Scotia Louisa Horne is a past (2019-20) Chair of the District Leadership Team (aka DG) and is now the Innovative Club Advocate Team Lead for Zones 28 and 32.
