Celebrating over 50 Years
of Service & Friendship
The Rotary Club of Pleasanton, chartered in 1965, is about Doing Good and Having Fun and that is why we are The World's Greatest Rotary Club. In 2015, we celebrated 50 years of service & friendship. Our goal for 2016-2017 is to continue to lay the groundwork for our club's next 50 years.
We are an organization of women and men who represent a diverse mix of professions and participate in a variety of local and international projects, including: scholarships for high school students, service projects for senior citizens, and providing over 3,500 wheelchairs for those in need. Our annual Father’s Day Spirit Run is our primary fundraiser and a treasured community event. Included below is our aerial drone video of the event – the views of Downtown Pleasanton are incredible!
The Rotary Club of Pleasanton meets Thursdays for lunch, music, and our speakers program. We meet at HAP'S Original, 122 West Neal Street – join us.
The Holiday Dinner was at Kurt McAninch's house. Village Catering supplied the delicious dinner! Evan Branning is the Caterer head.
Randy Brown did a great job thanking Village Catering! About 70 Rotarians had a nice evening celebrating the holiday season!
Enjoy the pics!

The 2015/16 Rotary Club of Pleasanton Demotion/Promotion Dinner was held at the Castlewood Country Club on June 30, 2016. The host was Scott Raty who got the evening started at 8pm.
Current President Janet Yarbrough was brought up on stage to play Match Game with six celebrities. The celebrities were as follows:
Sir Lawrence- aka Larry Annis
Jewel- aka Julie Lewis
Richie Fitzmaurice- aka Dick Fitzmaurice
Singing Sandra Aguilera- aka Sandra Lepley
Alberto Lombardo- The Sexiest Man Alive- aka Al Lombardo
Caitlin Hosterman- aka Mike Hosterman
Janet was asked 4 questions and she needed to successfully match her answers with those of the celebrities at least 10 times in order for her to pass her leadership mantle on to Randy Brown.
The questions were as follows:
-Janet says what at the start of every meeting: Fellow Rotarians and guests, welcome to ___________?" Janet's answer was "Rotary Club of Pleasanton" and she received 2 correct matches.
-Posed in this manner, Rotarians around the world are referring to _______? Janet's answer was "Polio Plus" and she received 3 correct matches.
-Past President Chris Miller, Jack Bras, and Gary Alt have a habit of _______ during the program. Janet's answer was "Sleeping" and she received 2 correct matches.
-Of all the great club accomplishments during this past year, _________ is the most memorable. Janet's answer was "Everything" for which she received the 3 required correct matches to allow her to pass on the presidency to Randy Brown.
It was also noted that Janet has left a balanced budget as well as more members than what she started the year with. As in tradition, she paid her dues of $300 for the next year.
The meeting was adjourned by Randy Brown at 8:30pm.
Thank you to all who came out to the tournament. We raised over $6,000!
