Chuck Tolley, one of our very active Rotarians has been working diligently on his family military history. Today he shared a power point presentation regarding his Uncle Andrew Sharp of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF).

Chuck's Uncle Andrew Sharp was a Navigator onboard a Halifax Bomber crew. He and 6 others were doing a training mission in East Yorkshire, when the airplane when down on Nov 8, 1944. The official report was pilot error.

Andrew Sharp was born in Biggar, SK. And today there is a an island named "Sharp Island" in the middle of Kazan lake. Last year Chuck went to visit his uncle's gravesite at Stonewall Cemetary in Harrogate, England.

The Halifax Bomber was painted "Goofy's Gift" of the NPG - 158 Squadron.

It is with a heavy heart that we thank Chuck for his presentation and help us all to remember those that have given their lives so others may live free.

Thank you Andrew Sharp, from Biggar, Saskatchewan.
