I remember 25 years ago, when my children were very small, I found a great little playground up on a hill opposite the State Police Barracks on Route 6. We would often stop by there on the way home, just to give them some extra time to get all their energy out. It was a safe, clean place where they could run around and I could join in their fun or sit on the glider and relax.  It was so welcome in the heat of summer because it was such a shady spot it would always feel cooler, and the kids could climb, slide and swing and go round on the little merry go round.  So many Scituate families have wonderful memories of this playground.

Now time has taken its toll, and the playground is aging. We have taken down one of the pieces in the photo, plus the swings, and the other piece will eventually have to be dismantled.  We are trying to fundraise to get new equipment for the playground, so the next generation of children can play in this wonderful spot. We have already replaced the swing set, and are now raising funds to replace a large piece so kids can climb and slide.

Please donate today to help us make this happen!! These days I  take my grandchildren to this same playground, and meet many parents who say the same thing, they are grateful to have a safe, fun place where their kids can play.
