Last Week's Program

The program this week was Mike Looper, Director, Forever Home Foundation.  Despite having an “unscheduled” appendectomy on Saturday, Mike still fulfilled his promise to present to our Club.  (With a little help from Mr. Oxycodone.)

Mike is a parent of a child he adopted about five years ago, and is thankful every day that he was able to afford the process to adopt a child.

What do you think it costs to adopt a child, domestically?  Believe or not, it can cost adopting parents between $30,000 and $60,000 to adopt a child.  Grants are available, but the typical grant is about $1,000.  Forever Home works with consultants, agencies, and directly with families, providing direction and financial assistance towards waiting adoptions.

Mike answered some questions from the membership, and very slowly, and carefully left the podium, and very slowly and carefully returned to his seat.  Thank you, Mike, for your commitment to our program!

"Wildly Successful"
Wild Game Cookout

Congratulations to the Club for a very successful (and safe) Wild Game Cookout.  Committee chairs shared their successes at the meeting, and the common theme was “smooth.”  The evening ran flawlessly, and Rotarians demonstrated the core strength of our Club, which is “service above self.”

Thank you chairs, committees, and supporters for the welcomed return of this coveted event!
