This Week's Program

Speaker: Angelica Ibarra, Ex. Director

Colleen Justin and Loretta Burns
Topic:  Learn Tampa Bay

 Rotarian: Mike Knight
Last Meeting-   January 16th

Last week’s program was presented by Rotarian Tim Kip.  Tim’s guest speakers were Colleen Justin and Loretta Burns of the East Hillsborough Art Guild (EHAG). East Hillsborough Art Guild was founded in 1992, by Eleanore McDade, as the Plant City Art Club as an opportunity for local artists to get together to share their experiences and talents to promote the arts in the community.  Most of the work is for sale and the proceeds support the local artists.  EHAG has grown and is moving forward toward the future, embracing new visual art mediums and techniques as well as traditional art forms. They believe in offering membership opportunities to improve artist’s skills through demonstrations, classes, and workshops and to provide them with opportunities to show and sell their work in business and museum settings.  EHAG strives to reach out to the community by presenting the annual Florida Strawberry Festival Fine Art Show, offering a visual arts scholarship to Hillsborough County artists, and touching the hearts of the public with visual art.  The “Classroom Gallery” is a new partnership venture for the East Hillsborough Historical Society and the East Hillsborough Art Guild featuring the “Art Around Town” show.  There are many artists in the community who are coming together to show their work so that others may find enjoyment.  East Hillsborough Art Guild Visual Art Grants are available to all Hillsborough County residents who need help to take their talents in visual arts to the next levelPlease join in welcoming the artists to the historic 1914 plant City High School Community Center and the Classroom Gallery.  Shows will rotate every 60-90 days.  For artist contact information and acquisition terms, please check out the website to contact the featured artist. www.ehagfinearts.com -submitted by Mike Arndt

Wild Game Cookout - Friday April 7th
It is extremely important that you get the word out about our event this year.  Our club has historically had the best Cookout and we want to ensure that we keep that reputation for years to come. There are numerous Wild Game Cookouts during this time of the year. It is our duty to reach out to our Friends, Family, Neighbors, Employees, Customers, Etc. and make sure that they know when the Plant City Rotary Wild Game Cookout is. Other clubs and organizations are going to be selling to the same individuals very soon and you do not want to find out in late March that you were too late.  2017 Wild Game Flyer is available for you to print and pass out, put on Facebook, send in email to your contacts, etc.  It is very important that we get a jump start on the event this year!
