District Governor Visit
As mentioned above our annual visit from the District Governor is Monday.  Club members are encouraged to invite their spouses to this meeting.  Don't forget Board Members and officers will be meeting with the DG at 10:30 prior to the regular meeting.

Community Outreach Project
We will be adopting a community project through “Care Fest”.  Care Fest locates homeowners that need help with their property…pressure wash, yard work, paint, etc.  More information to follow for this community outreach project.  We recently received some good publicity in the newspaper regarding this upcoming event. Put September 26 on your calendar for the “Care Fest” project.  We will be working on fixing up and painting a house for an elderly Plant City resident.  More details to follow.

Board meetings will now be held the 3rd Thursday of each month at Florida Insurance Company at 5:30.  Any member is welcome and encouraged to attend.

“Catering by the Family” will now be catering our meals.  We should see some different meal options moving forward.

Showcase your project at the Seoul convention
Apply to host a booth in the House of Friendship at the 2016 Rotary International Convention in Seoul, 28 May-1 June. This is an opportunity to showcase your club or district project, recruit members for your Rotary Fellowship, share information about your Rotarian Action Group, or market Rotary merchandise if you are a licensed RI vendor. The application deadline is 30 September. Booth allocations will be awarded by 1 November. Apply
 
Road trip revs up interest in Rotary
Members of the news media had gathered, along with the mayor of Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and a group of Rotary members, on the bank of the murky Detroit River. It was early August and the members were about to amaze the reporters on hand. Jason Browne and Adam Barth, members of Rollin’ With Rotary, a four-person team of Rotary members who visited a dozen cities this summer, dipped a bucket into the polluted water. The reporters watched as they poured the brownish water into a filter, part of a $1,000 survival kit that Rotary and its project partner ShelterBox distribute to disaster victims...
 
The Rotary Foundation earns eighth straight 4-star rating
The Rotary Foundation earned a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, the largest and most prestigious independent evaluator of nonprofits in the United States. This year’s top distinction is the Foundation’s eighth in a row, which places the Foundation in the top 2 percent of U.S.-based charities. Register for 2015 Rotary-UN Day
Register online to take part in Rotary Day at the United Nations on 7 November. This annual event at UN Headquarters in New York City offers Rotary members and others a unique opportunity to learn how we work with the United Nations to advance peace and improve the lives of those most in need. This year’s meeting highlights the UN’s 70th anniversary and Rotary’s longstanding relationship with the organization. Do you have an idea or project that you want to share with the Rotary world? Consider leading a breakout session at the 2016 Rotary International Convention in Seoul. Submit your proposal by 15 October to share your successes with projects, efforts to strengthen membership, partnerships, leadership development, and more. The proposal form is available in English, Japanese, Korean, and Mandarin.
