Brian Wynn and Bill McAree drove a fire engine to Mazatlan Mexico to donate a fire engine (#3) to several communities along with 7 other service vehicles such as school busses, service buses and ambulances. Rotary assisted with the 14 day trip.
Whitecourt engine 3 donated by the town of Whitecourt completed with fittings, nozzles, ladders and was fully serviceable upon delivery. While there, Brain and Bill trained how to use the unit and all the components.
Along with the vehicles, they also donated breathing apparatus', wheel chairs, stretchers, fire fighting coveralls, boots, bunker gear, helmets, walkers, and canes.
The communities were very grateful for the service vehicles. One community of 60,000 people only had one ambulance and that vehicle was donated 15 years ago.
