Hi,
I'm Sarah Letkeman, Secretary of the Rotary Club of Whitecourt for 2018/19. I finished high school in Whitecourt in 2000, and moved back 5 years ago. This town has grown and changed in so many positive ways and Rotary Club of Whitecourt has had a lot to do with that! I am glad to be back here with so many activities for families, walking trails and of course, our beautiful Rotary Park.
After moving back I finished my accounting designation CPA, CGA and with the new lack of schoolwork I had a lot of spare time and I felt like something was missing in my life. Joining the Rotary Club of Whitecourt has filled that gap. I get to be a part of so many amazing community service activities and learn just how much power a (relatively) small group of people with big hearts can have!
This past spring I participated in an English-teaching volunteer project called GoCamp in Ukraine and it was unforgettable. I also organize the Rotary Youth Adventure application process in Whitecourt. Our club offers sponsorship to high school students for eight different Youth Adventures across Canada, and the effect these have on students is so positive and confidence-building.
