The meeting started by honoring long-time Rotarian and good friend to all members, Bill Filice. Bill has been a member of Gilroy Rotary since 1952. Although he will no longer regularly attend Tuesday meetings, he will come when he feel up to it. Deanna presented Bill with a membership plaque, and his good friends Don Christopher, Ernie Filice and Marv Thomas helped us all remember some great timew with Bill.

The June 26th meeting will be an EVENING meeting held at Fortino Winery. The meeting is set aside to recognize the work of Deanna as the President of Gilroy Rotary for the last year. Meet at Fortino Winery at 6:00 PM. Please let the committee know you are coming by registering here. There is no charge to members for this meeting event, but if you would like to bring a spouse/guest it is $20. Make a reservation for your guest and pay for them at the door.

Rick Patereau announced that the 2012 Senior BBQ was a success. He thanked the small but mighty crew from the club that helped: Marv Thomas, Joe Keeler, Peter Katavich, Susan Murphey Patereau and Bob Wagner.

Special guests at the meeting were from OZ. South Valley Civic Theater is presenting The Wizare of Oz at the Morgan Hill Playhouse for performances until July 7th. Gilroy Rotary's very own Rob Barham plays the part of the wizard. The other visitors from Oz included The Tin Man, and Dorothy.

The Sheriff was Tammy Brownlow. The hard questions she asked and fined for were taken from the current issue of Rotarian Magazine. Great job Tammy!

The program was local historian and author Elizabeth Barrett, speaking specifically about her great-great grandfather, Haverland R. Chesbro, MD.
