Meeting Notes - February 7, 2012

Speech Contest


Four students competed this year in our club-level speech contest. Two students from Gilroy High School, and two from Christopher High School competed. Although the scores were very close, the highest scorer and ultimate winner was Jenni Sigl, from Christopher High. Jenni is the daughter of former member Karen Sigl, and granddaughter of our very own Marv Thomas. Jenni will now go on to compete at the area level.









Congratulations to all the competitors, Jonahluis Galvez and Bryan Kachakji, from Gilroy HIgh, and Nicole Beleno, who along with Jenni are from Christopher High. They all formed their speeches around the theme, "Reach Within to Embrace Humanity."










This year's speech contest was coordinated by Traci Dalke and Marco Renella. The judges included Rachel Perez, Kathleen Rose, Lloyd Lowrey, Bob Kovacs and Jill Fortino.
