Ron Erskine was the speaker for the day. He’s an Outdoor Columnist for Gilroy Dispatch, MH Times & The Hollister Freelance and also teaches a backpacking class for Gavilan Community Education. Ron says that there is a measureable quantifiable Difference in your health when you walk in Nature. He is a Guide and Naturalist. His presentation covered some of his favorite hikes. His talk covered many hiking trails within a 45 minute drive from Gilroy.

One statement he said that woke everyone up from his or her post lunch slumber was that the Ford Ord Dunes State Park is so empty you could walk naked! Next Rotary outing? Not! The other comment was that the Pichette Preserve in Stevens Creek is a short walk of ½ mile and has a winery at the end! (this one is not on the list) A list of the hikes he reviewed are available on the Club Runner Website.

Club Raffle winners were Tim Day & Ron Erskine!  Next week Tim Day will talk about Genealogy.
