The first Rotary meeting of the year was our Annual Speech Contest. The membership attendance was phenomenal.

Brigitte Nichols announced the Vocational Services Committee will be meeting to organize a Quarterly panel of our members to talk about their businesses or the field they work in to share information that could be helpful to fellow Rotarians.

The Speech Contest consisted of five students from Gilroy and Christopher High Schools. Judges were Rachel Perez-Gavilan College, Kathleen Rose-Gavilan College, Lloyd Lowrey-Noland, Hamerly, Etienne & Hoss, Bob Kovacs-Kovacs Chiropractic, Jill Fortino-Fortino Winery. Score Keepers: Paul Vanni-Seldon, Vanni, Humphrey & Kawafuchi CPA’s, Brigitte Nichols-SB Bank & Trust, Marie Blankley-Marie Blankley, CPA. Timer: Paul Wheeler-Owner Wheeler Supply, Director: Traci Dalke-Studio Three Dance Studio.

Between the student speeches Marco kept the audience entertained with stories about his working career as a pilot. Awards were recognized by Traci Dalke.
