Debbie Flores, Superintendant of GUSD, and fellow Rotarian, presented information on an exciting new program at GUSD called Character Counts.
 

Debbie brought with her Scott Otteson, Principal of Glen View, Sylvia Reyes, Principal of Las Animas, John Perez, Principal of Christopher High School, and Jim Simoni, Attorney and graduate of Leadership Gilroy 2008. All presented information about the Character Counts program. Marilyn Ayala from GUSD Office also attended.

Who sponsors Character Counts?

Administered by the nonprofit Josephson Institute, Character Counts is neither religious nor political. Because it works, Character Counts is used by both secular and faith-based groups and supported by public officials of both major parties.

Character Counts is a means to advance behavior goals using a framework based on basic values called the six pillars of Character:
