Rotary Club of Twinsburg Presents “History of League Park

October is Economic and Community Development month
Nearly 1.4 billion employed people live on less than $1.25 a day. Our members promote economic and community development and reduce poverty in underserved communities through training, well-paying jobs, and access to financial management institutions. Projects range from providing people with equipment to vocational training. Our members work to strengthen local entrepreneurs and community leaders, particularly women, in impoverished communities.

Special Days:
5 World Teacher's Day (BEL)
11 International Day of the Girl Child (BEL)
15 Global Handwashing Day (WAS)
16 World Food Day (ECD)
17 International Day for the Eradication of Poverty (UN) (ECD)

Tactical ways to use social media to promote Rotary

Social media has revolutionized the way we connect with our friends, family and network. It's become a portal of advocacy which has the power to influence our actions. How are you using your social media networks to promote your club activities and Rotary? Sometimes it may even seem as though they make no difference in your overall strategy, but with a few tweaks, connecting with your audience can become easier.

Rotary Foundation Thought

This week’s Rotary Foundation Thought is about Every Rotarian, Every Year.

"Our world is filled with conflict and strife, but I believe that fundamentally, people are more alike than they are different. I believe the underlying causes of most of the conflict and strife are poverty, disease, hunger, and illiteracy. The work of The Rotary Foundation addresses all of these critical needs. My annual gifts to The Rotary Foundation enable me to do my small part, and these gifts are magnified by being added to The Rotary Foundation‘s resources to bring meaningful help to people in need." — Past District Governor Teree Bergman

The ABC's of Rotary

Standard Rotary Club Constitution

Rotary International exists in 163 countries and cuts across dozens of languages, political and social structures, customs, religions, and traditions. How is it that all of the more than 31,000 Rotary clubs of the world operate in almost identical style? The primary answer is the Standard Rotary Club Constitution.

One of the conditions to receive a charter to become a Rotary club is to accept the Standard Rotary Club Constitution, originally adopted in 1922. This document outlines administrative techniques for clubs to follow in holding weekly meetings, procedures for membership and classifications, conditions of attendance, payment of dues, and other policies relating to public issues and political positions.

When the Standard Rotary Club Constitution was accepted, it was agreed that all existing clubs could continue to follow their current constitution. Although most of those early clubs have subsequently endorsed the standard constitution, a few pre-1922 clubs still conduct their club affairs according to their former constitutional provisions.

Opportunities to give service

The club has fundraisers and service events coming up!

Give our Club all the support you can to make it successful.  We need all cylinders firing!!!  Please do what you can to serve our club.  If you not being asked to serve the club, ask where you can help!

Participate in Every Rotarian Every Year.  Any amount you can contribute will help the success of Rotary International in your community and around the world.  Let's try to become a 100% EREY club, where every member contributes something to the Rotary Foundation, either directly or through the club.

Think of another way in which you could serve our club, or help a committee chair with some of their responsibilities.  Abby and Kathy are assembling the team for this Rotary year.  Help them in any way that you can, even if you have not been asked.

Participation is the key to an effective club!!!!

Serve Early, Serve Often!
