2026-27 Rotary Theme: Create Lasting Impact
Rotary International President-elect Olayinka H. Babalola called on members to Create Lasting Impact by making their clubs more welcoming, carrying out impactful projects, and allowing their Rotary experiences to transform them personally.

January is Vocational Service month
The Object of Rotary is a philosophical statement of Rotary’s purpose and the responsibilities
of Rotarians. The concept of vocational service is rooted in the Second Object, which calls on
Rotarians to “encourage and foster”:

• High ethical standards in business and professions

• The recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations

• The dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society

As a Rotarian, how can you put these ideals into action? Consider these suggestions:

• Talk about your vocation in your club, and take time to learn about fellow members’ vocations.

• Use your professional skills to serve a community.

• Practice your profession with integrity, and inspire others to behave ethically through your own words and actions.

• Help a young person achieve his or her career aspirations.

• Guide and encourage others in their professional development.

If you do any of these things, you are performing vocational service. And if vocational service motivates and energizes you, then you’re in the right place, because vocational service is the very essence of Rotary. It is what sets Rotary apart from other service organizations.

Rotary Foundation Thought

This week's Rotary Foundation Thought is Peace Fellowships

Each year, Rotary awards up to 130 fully funded fellowships for dedicated leaders from around the world to study at one of our peace centers.
Through academic training, practice, and global networking opportunities, the Rotary Peace Centers program develops the capacity of peace and development professionals to become effective catalysts for peace. The fellowships cover tuition and fees, room and board, round-trip transportation, and internship and field-study expenses.

Rotary's Learning in Action - January 2026
Prepare for the 2026-27 Rotary year

When you report a club officer’s name to Rotary International through My Rotary (or by recording it in your club management software and syncing the information), the officer receives an automated welcome email from learn@rotary.org. It will include a link to the learning plan for that role. We encourage incoming officers to take these courses before they attend district learning events, such as presidents-elect learning seminars and club leadership learning seminars. (Note that districts may have other names for these events.)

Whenever new officers are chosen, use the button below to get easy instructions for reporting them in My Rotary. If you prefer to use a club management system to add officers, be sure to sync the data to My Rotary to send the information to Rotary International so we can communicate with those officers.

Learning Center Highlights

Incoming club officers should complete their learning plans before they attend their learning events. To see what courses are in your learning plan, download the Learning Center Course Catalog. Bookmark this link because we update the catalog four times a year.
