The Rotary Club of Newtown ROCKS!!!! Our members are doers, rolling up their sleeves to make sure a project or event is completed and successful. That is what makes our club the most vibrant and largest in terms of members in District 7430.
"Dialogue and Engagement."
One of my visions/goals this Rotary year was to go "out of the box" and start a dialogue with other service clubs in our bailiwick. Just in the first few weeks of my term, I connected for dinner meetings with the Kiwanis Club of Washington Crossing-Yardley and the Lions Club of Feasterville-Trevose. Our mission is their mission and their mission is our mission. Both service clubs received the electronic flyer of our Tools for School C4C being held this Thursday July 31st at Green Parrot. In return I have circulated both the Kiwanis and Lions Club information on their golf outings. In fact, the Kiwanians will be honoring a former member of both clubs, the late and great Jack Erickson.
We have hit the ground running and the train has left the station. Our members are all aboard. And we don't rest since it is the "dog days" of summer. August will be just as exciting as our July events.

Camaraderie for a Cause - United Way - 7/31
Please join us at this special Camaraderie for a Cause on Thursday, July 31st at the Green Parrot where we'll welcome members of the United Way "Tools for School" program. United Way’s Tools for School initiative ensures children in our community have the tools they need, while easing financial strain on their families. Please bring your school supply donations which are indicated in the flyer below, $10 and a few friends and prepare to have a great time for a great cause. See you there!
Please join us for our first "Monthly Dinner Meeting" on Wednesday, August 6th from 6:00-7:30pm as part of our updated schedule. During this meeting, we will welcome the members of the Levittown Rotary Club. In addition, we'll have New Member Inductions and hear Classification Speeches from some of our new members! We'll have a lovely dinner catered by Joe Garvey. Cost for dinner is $25 and you may bring your adult beverage of choice where it can be stored at the bar. Should be a great evening, see you there!

This highly interactive “Speed Dating” meeting is certain to provide fellow Rotarians the opportunity to learn more about one another in a series of rotational dialogues that are fun, fast-paced, and exciting! Whether you're a seasoned Rotarian or a new member, this memorable event is the ideal way to build relationships, spark new collaborations, and discover shared passions or talents. Let’s strengthen our fellowship and have lots of fun doing it! Lunch will be provided by Joe Garvey for a cost of $16.
Please join us for our next Book Club where we will read "The View From Lake Como" from the beloved New York Times bestselling author Adriana Trigiani, a “dazzling” storyteller and a “comedy writer with a heart of gold”. This is a novel about one woman’s quest to build her own life before it’s too late. The group will meet on Sunday, September 7th from 4:00-6:00pm at Shikha Prashar's home. Please join us for some fellowship and fun, even if you don't have a chance to read the book! The more, the merrier.
During the month of July, the Newtown Rotary Club will be collecting school supplies to contribute to the United Way's "Tools for School" program! Please collect the various items listed in the flyer below and prepare to bring them to our Camaraderie for a Cause event at the Green Parrot on Thursday, July 31st from 5:30-7:00pm. Members from the United Way will join us as we all share the same goal of helping our local children prepare for a strong start to their school year. Book Club - 7/13
Avid readers from the Newtown Rotary Club met on Sunday, July 13 to discuss “The Covenant of Water” which was a wonderful book. This month’s Book Club was hosted by Shikha Prashar and the feast that she prepared was simply out of this world! Our next book selection is "The View from Lake Como" by Adriana Trigiani and the date will be Sunday, September 7th. Stay tuned for final details and join us for fellowship and fun. In the meantime, start reading!
Rotarians Having Lunch!!!
Lunch Meeting - 7/16
What an exciting lunch meeting we had where we welcomed a visiting Rotarian from Sweden, Leila Khammani and her daughter, Hedda. Leila is a member of the Lunds Rotary Club in Sweden and took Steve up on his offer to pay us a visit. In true Rotarian fashion, Shari Donahue then treated the pair to some of her famous Zebra Striped Whale ice cream to top off the visit! As you can see from the smiles, it was a hit! Our keynote speaker was Linda Reider, Executive Director of the Bucks County SPCA. She was amazing and shared all the great things they are doing to to assist animals in need and prevent suffering through rescue, rehoming, cruelty investigation and prosecution, and community outreach.
Please join us as we welcome our District Governor, Mary Cook! Mary was a three term President for the Collegeville Rotary Club and is now our new District Governor. She is excited to meet our club, share the goals and aspirations for not only our District but RI as well.
Mark your calendars! Pickering Manor's "Sips n’ Suds" returns on Thursday, November 13, 2026 — an evening of good cheer, great community, and meaningful celebration. This year, Pickering Manor will be honoring the Newtown Rotary Clubwith the "Sidney T. Yates Award" for our dedication to making a difference in our community and surrounding communities!
