What can I say but our 2025-2026 Rotary year is almost coming to a close. It has been truly an honor to serve as your President both facilitating our meetings but also externally representing our club in community activities. With that, please mark your calendars for our Installation/Changeover dinner being held at the American Legion on Wednesday June 17th, 2026. The formal portion of the meeting starts at 6:30pm but try to come early to register, network and enjoy the scrumptious dinner buffet prepared by Joe Garvey. The dinner fee is $25.00 per person and we ask you to pre-register so an accurate count can be provided to Joe and his staff. This will be an evening reminiscing of our Rotary year, recognitions and the Installation of President Shikha Prashar as President on July 1st, 2026. It will be a memorable evening.
It was a terrific Golf Outing Monday of this week at Trenton Country Club. This is an annual tradition and all of the proceeds go to helping Pickering Manor. Special thanks to the Golf Committee including Paul Salvatore and Tony Petsis. On Wednesday, which was our final lunch meeting of the Rotary year, we welcomed Cheryl Castro who is the CEO and President of Pearl S. Buck International in Perkasie.
Thursday June 25th, 2026 is our Camaraderie for a Cause which will be held at Blue Point Grille. Our non profit spotlight is Amy's Kisses. Our C4C starts at 5:30pm and goes to 7pm. We ask all who attend to make a minimum donation of $10.00.
Please scroll down the newsletter in terms of registering for our events and other club activities such as our growing Book Club. I look forward to seeing you at the Installation/changeover dinner and the C4C.
Thank you very much and Service above self.

Book Club - 5/31
Our May Book Club pick is "There Are No Children Here", a 1992 nonfiction book by Alex Kotlowitz that chronicles the lives of two brothers, Lafayette and Pharoah Rivers, growing up in the violent, poverty-stricken Henry Horner Homes housing project in Chicago. The book details their struggle with gang violence, poverty, and neglect, while also highlighting their resilience and the heroism required to survive in a hostile environment, with Pharoah finding a path through education. It was adapted into a TV movie starring Oprah Winfrey and is considered a classic work on urban poverty. Our Book Club meeting will be held on Sunday, May 31st from 3:00-5:00pm. Please register for details!

The Newtown Rotary Club’s Spring Food Drive at McCaffrey’s last Saturday brought the community together to support local families in need, collecting essential food items for the Wrightstown Food Pantry. Through the generosity of shoppers and volunteers, we were able to collect over 22 shopping carts full of food and a cast donation of over $500. We are proud to have helped strengthen food security in our area while demonstrating the power of neighbors helping neighbors. Thanks to Shari Donahue for spearheading this biannual effort and thanks to McCaffrey's Market for always being a strong partner for our Club and community!
Rotarians Honoring Students!!!
We held one of our favorite lunch meetings of the year on Wednesday, May 20th! During this meeting, Rob Brown had the opportunity to recognize outstanding Council Rock North students as part of our "Students of the Month" recognition program. We are proud to honor these local students who demonstrate outstanding achievement in academics, leadership, character, and service to their school and community. We were reminded that our future is in good hands after listening to each student talk about their High School experience and plans for College. Below you will see a photo of our amazing award recipients (left to right) Jack McGrath, Madeline Bradac, Chloe Ranck and Christopher Woods together with Rob Brown and Rotary President, Steve Sabel. Each recipient was supported by a family member which made it all the more special. Beatrice Tysh was unable to attend and we extend our congratulations and admiration to all five students!
Rotarians Honoring Veterans in the Parade!!!
