President's Message

Dear Fellow Rotarians,

I want to reiterate that it is truly an honor to serve as your President. I am grateful for your confidence, and I look forward to working alongside each of you.  My vision this year is centered on “We are better together” and creating lasting change through leadership, fellowship, service, and community impact.

Together We Lead. Together We Serve. Together We Create Lasting Legacies.
As your president, let me highlight that we have something special – a club strengthened by friendship, shared purpose, and a unique blend of seasoned wisdom and fresh perspectives. I want to acknowledge that together, you all help create an environment where experience meets innovation; where every member can contribute, grow, and lead.

This year, I want to help strengthen our culture of stewardship, transparency, and collaboration through a clear leadership structure and membership engagement. Let us support diversity in the communities and projects we support. With the ideas and leadership, we bring to the table, we can create even greater impact.

As Paul Harris once said, “Whatever Rotary may mean to us, to the world it will be known by the results it achieves."  Let's achieve great results this year—and do it together as we take the Rotary Club of Newtown to new heights.

Please join the Newtown Rotary Club for our annual Pedals for Progress Service project!  On Saturday, October 17th, we will set up in the parking lot across the street from the Olde Church of Saint Andrew located at 135 S. Sycamore Street from 9:00am - 12:00pm.  During this time, we will be collecting adult and kids bicycles and portable sewing machines to send to developing countries around the world.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to our Committee Chair, Dr. Jerry Agasar at drjerry@agasarfamilywellcare.com.  We thank you in advance for your donations and spread the word to your friends!!!!
Lunch Meeting- 10/7
The Newtown Rotary Club will hold it's Lunch Meeting on Wednesday, October 7th from 12:15-1:30pm at the American Legion.  This week, we are very excited to welcome District Governor, Jeremiah Sensenig as our special guest.  Jeremiah is a member of the West Reading - Wyomissing Rotary Club and served multiple terms as President, then served as Assistant Governor for District 7430 from 2020-25, and took on the role of District Governor in July of 2026.  He will speak to our Club about his vision and priorities for the coming year so bring lots of questions and get ready for a great discussion!  Bring $16 for a Joe Garvey lunch and all are welcome.
Children's Fall Fest - 10/24
Please join us for the Newtown Rotary Club's 1st Annual Children’s Fall Fest will take place Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 11:15 AM–1:00 PM at Brian Gregg Park, immediately following the Newtown Halloween Parade award ceremony. It promises an afternoon of fall fun, music, treats, and family memories while supporting a community-focused Rotary initiative. Since we are running the event, we will need volunteers to help with the activities as needed so please sign up below!  This is Shari Donahue's brilliant idea so let's support her and our Club!
Rotarians Supporting Market Day!!!
The Newtown Rotary Club was proud to participate in Newtown, PA’s annual Market Day! 💙 It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with neighbors, support our community, and share the positive impact we make together.  Market Day gave us the chance to share some of the work closest to our hearts: collecting food and serving meals for people in need, supporting students through leadership programs and school supplies, and raising funds for local nonprofits, supporting our Veterans, and emergency medical services.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by to learn about our projects and ways to get involved. We’re proud to serve this community!  Thanks to the wonderful volunteers we have who showed up and did us proud!
Rotarians Supporting Equestrians!!!
The Newtown Rotary Club was delighted to host a wonderful Camaraderie for a Cause fundraising event at La Stalla on September 24th in support of Special Equestrians. We were honored to welcome Janice Witt, Executive Director, and Beth Morris, Sales & Marketing Director, who shared more about the organization’s meaningful work and impact in our community. Special Equestrians’ mission is to enhance the lives of individuals with physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges through therapeutic equestrian activities. Thank you to everyone who joined us in supporting this exceptional program that empowers individuals through therapeutic horsemanship. Special thanks to La Stalla for hosting this lovely event too!
