What can I say but our 2025-2026 Rotary year is almost coming to a close. It has been truly an honor to serve as your President both facilitating our meetings but also externally representing our club in community activities. With that, please mark your calendars for our Installation/Changeover dinner being held at the American Legion on Wednesday June 17th, 2026. The formal portion of the meeting starts at 6:30pm but try to come early to register, network and enjoy the scrumptious dinner buffet prepared by Joe Garvey. The dinner fee is $25.00 per person and we ask you to pre-register so an accurate count can be provided to Joe and his staff. This will be an evening reminiscing of our Rotary year, recognitions and the Installation of President Shikha Prashar as President on July 1st, 2026. It will be a memorable evening.
It was a terrific Golf Outing Monday of this week at Trenton Country Club. This is an annual tradition and all of the proceeds go to helping Pickering Manor. Special thanks to the Golf Committee including Paul Salvatore and Tony Petsis. On Wednesday, which was our final lunch meeting of the Rotary year, we welcomed Cheryl Castro who is the CEO and President of Pearl S. Buck International in Perkasie.
Thursday June 25th, 2026 is our Camaraderie for a Cause which will be held at Blue Point Grille. Our non profit spotlight is Amy's Kisses. Our C4C starts at 5:30pm and goes to 7pm. We ask all who attend to make a minimum donation of $10.00.
Please scroll down the newsletter in terms of registering for our events and other club activities such as our growing Book Club. I look forward to seeing you at the Installation/changeover dinner and the C4C.
Thank you very much and Service above self.

Please join our Book Club as our June pick is "Annabelle's Journey" which is a follow up to Charlotte Camino's first book "New Beginnings: Annabelle's Story" which the Club has already enjoyed. This book follows Annabelle and Alfredo Caruso and their immigrant community in New York City as they face the growing threat of World War I, uncertain whether America will enter the conflict and force husbands and fathers into military service. As war reshapes their lives, the novel explores the sacrifices, losses, resilience, and changing roles of women and families struggling to survive during a turbulent period in American history.. Charlotte, a fellow Rotarian, will join the meeting which will be held on Sunday, June 28th from 3:00-5:00pm at Shari Donahue's home. Please register for this event to get additional details.

During our Lunch Meeting on Wednesday, June 3rd, we had the distinct pleasure of awarding Newtown EMS, Inc. with a check for $3,000 to support the purchase of computers for their ambulances. This investment in technology will enable faster response time and even better care for patients. We had the honor of hearing from Evan Resnikoff, Chief of Emergency Medical Services along with Deputy Chief, Kevin Gordon. Our biggest takeaway is that our community is blessed with an incredible, lifesaving team at the Newtown EMS, Inc.! Their success rate is the highest in Bucks County and well above the average for our state. The Newtown Rotary Club is privileged to support this amazing team and look forward to a continued strong partnership for years to come.
Rotarians Learning about Pearl S. Buck!!!
During our Lunch Meeting on Wednesday, June 10th at 12:15pm, we had the distinct pleasure of welcoming Cheryl Castro of Pearl S. Buck International as our speaker. During Cheryl's talk, she highlighted the organization’s impactful global work supporting children and promoting cross-cultural understanding. Founded on the legacy of Nobel and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Pearl S. Buck, the organization continues her lifelong commitment to humanitarianism and cultural connection. Thank you so much, Cheryl, for sharing your gift of time! Another highlight from our meeting was a presentation by Eagle Scout, Haree Kumar from Troop 99, Tamanend District. Haree just completed his Eagle Scout project, partially funded by the Newtown Rotary Club. He built four benches outside of Council Rock HS for all to enjoy - what an impressive accomplishment! Congratulations, Haree and thank you!
