President's Message

Dear Fellow Rotarians,

I want to reiterate that it is truly an honor to serve as your President. I am grateful for your confidence, and I look forward to working alongside each of you.  My vision this year is centered on “We are better together” and creating lasting change through leadership, fellowship, service, and community impact.

Together We Lead. Together We Serve. Together We Create Lasting Legacies.
As your president, let me highlight that we have something special – a club strengthened by friendship, shared purpose, and a unique blend of seasoned wisdom and fresh perspectives. I want to acknowledge that together, you all help create an environment where experience meets innovation; where every member can contribute, grow, and lead.

This year, I want to help strengthen our culture of stewardship, transparency, and collaboration through a clear leadership structure and membership engagement. Let us support diversity in the communities and projects we support. With the ideas and leadership, we bring to the table, we can create even greater impact.

As Paul Harris once said, “Whatever Rotary may mean to us, to the world it will be known by the results it achieves."  Let's achieve great results this year—and do it together as we take the Rotary Club of Newtown to new heights.

Rotarians Supporting Pedals for Progress!!!
The Newtown Rotary Club was proud to mark its 24th year collecting bicycles and sewing machines for Pedals for Progress. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we collected more than 160 bicycles and more than 20 sewing machines, along with meaningful contributions toward the cost of shipping these items overseas.  The bicycles and sewing machines are headed to Madagascar, where they will help people get to work and school and provide for their families. We are grateful to our community, volunteers, and everyone who helped spread the word as we took another important step toward making the world a better place.  Special thanks to Jerry Agasar, our fearless chairman, for his leadership, and to Allen Fidler for the use of his barn throughout the process. Lastly, thank you to our friends at Servpro (Bill Wise) for bringing hot coffee and donuts on such a cold and windy morning!
Rotarians Welcoming our DG!!!
The Newtown Rotary Club was very excited to welcome our District Governor, Jeremiah Sensenig as our special guest during the October 7th Lunch Meeting.  He spoke to our Club about his vision and priorities for the coming year with a special emphasis on dialing up "community engagement" which is perfectly aligned with our strategy as a Club.  Jeremiah brought some great energy and fun sense of humor to his remarks we and greatly appreciated the gift of his time and perspective!  We also heard from the chairs of our upcoming events to generate excitement:  Francis Lusardi (Plane Pull Fundraiser on 10/10); Jerry Agasar and Alan Schultz (Pedals for Progress on 10/17); Shari Donahue (Children's Fall Fest on 10/24) while our Asst. DG Kyle Davis was on hand to introduce Jeremiah.  It was a jammed packed meeting for sure, we have some great things on the horizon to make a difference in our community!
Rotarians Pulling Planes!!!
Our Newtown Rotary Club joined an incredible community of supporters for the Special Olympics Plane Pull fundraiser on Saturday, October 10th at the Lehigh Valley Airport! Our team dug in and worked together to pull a 80-Ton FEDEX jet down the runway, cheered on by an enthusiastic crowd. Thank you to everyone who pulled, volunteered, encouraged the teams, and helped raise support for Special Olympics athletes. It was a powerful display of teamwork and community spirit in support of inclusion and opportunity!  A very special thanks to Francis Lusardi for his vision and leadership to bring this fundraising initiative to life!  Thanks to him, the team and the generosity of the Newtown Rotary Club, we were able to donate $2,500 to the Special Olympics.  We are proud to have made a positive impact for a very important cause.  Service Above Self indeed!

Rotarians Fostering Hope!!!
The Newtown Rotary Club held a "Cigar Dinner" fundraiser to benefit Fostering Hope's annual Christmas Drive.  Thanks to the participants as this event, we raised just shy of $2,000 for Christmas gifts for Lower Bucks County teenagers experiencing foster care. We are so grateful for the support of our friends at the Newtown and Trenton Rotary Clubs, to Robert Martinez for two of the cigars and Ned’s Cigar Shop for the 3rd.  The event took place at Vecchia Osteria so of course we enjoyed their wonderful hospitality as well.  Thanks to everyone who participated in this fine example of Service Above Self!
