Newtown Market Day - 10/3 Rotary Table
Newtown Market Day will take place on Saturday, October 3rd from 10:00am - 4:00pm. Market Day is one of our community's signature events, bringing thousands of visitors to town for a day of history, shopping, entertainment, and local charm. Hosted by the Newtown Historic Association, it's a wonderful opportunity for Newtown Rotarians to give back by volunteering and helping make this beloved tradition a success. Please consider volunteering at our Rotary Table located right in front of the Newtown Library on Centre Ave.
The Newtown Rotary Club will hold it's Lunch Meeting on Wednesday, October 7th from 12:15-1:30pm at the American Legion. This week, we are very excited to welcome District Governor, Jeremiah Sensenig as our special guest. Jeremiah is a member of the West Reading - Wyomissing Rotary Club and served multiple terms as President, then served as Assistant Governor for District 7430 from 2020-25, and took on the role of District Governor in July of 2026. He will speak to our Club about his vision and priorities for the coming year so bring lots of questions and get ready for a great discussion! Bring $16 for a Joe Garvey lunch and all are welcome.
Join the Newtown Rotary Club for this fun, unique and meaningful fundraising event to benefit the Special Olympics. The event takes place on Saturday, October 10th from 8:30am - 12:00pm at the Lehigh Valley Int'l Airport located at Postal Road, Allentown PA. We have a team of 25 and have raised $2,500 to support this amazing cause! Please join the Newtown Rotary Club for our annual Pedals for Progress Service project! On Saturday, October 17th, we will set up in the parking lot across the street from the Olde Church of Saint Andrew located at 135 S. Sycamore Street from 9:00am - 12:00pm. During this time, we will be collecting adult and kids bicycles and portable sewing machines to send to developing countries around the world. These items will enable education and vocation for families in these countries. Please join the Newtown Rotary Book Club for our October Book Club meeting to be held on Sunday, October 18th from 3:00-500pm! Our October pick, "Empty Mansions",tells the true story of Huguette Clark, an intensely private heiress who inherited one of America’s great fortunes but lived in near-total seclusion. Though she owned lavish, long-unoccupied mansions, she spent her final decades in a modest hospital room while giving away millions to caregivers, friends, and institutions. The book explores her eccentric life, complicated family legacy, and the mystery surrounding the handling of her vast wealth. Please join us for the Newtown Rotary Club's 1st Annual Children’s Fall Fest will take place Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 11:30 AM–1:00 PM at Brian Gregg Park, immediately following the Newtown Halloween Parade award ceremony. It promises an afternoon of fall fun, music, treats, and family memories while supporting a community-focused Rotary initiative. Since we are running the event, we will need volunteers to help with the activities as needed so please sign up below! This is Shari Donahue's brilliant idea so let's support her and our Club!
The Newtown Rotary Club was proud to sponsor and volunteer at a special Labor Day brunch for residents of the Levittown Homeless Shelter. A delicious meal was generously donated by Joe Garvey Catering. Special thanks to Paul Salvatore for leading this meaningful event and bringing everyone together. We are also grateful to the Rotary members who volunteered their time to serve the meal and connect with shelter residents. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the holiday through fellowship, compassion, and Service Above Self.
Rotarians Getting Educated!!!
The Newtown Rotary Club was proud to welcome fellow Rotarian, Dr. Grace Wu Simco, as our keynote speaker during our lunch meeting on September 9th. Dr. Grace is a board-certified orthodontist and founder of Grace’s Braces. She, along with fellow industry experts and colleagues, joined us to discuss the important connection between orthodontics and dental airway health. She explained how airway concerns can affect breathing, sleep and overall well-being, as well as the value of early identification and personalized treatment. We appreciated Dr. Grace sharing her expertise and innovative, patient-centered approach with our club. Thank you!
Newtown Rotary Club Youth Programs
The Newtown Rotary Club offers students meaningful opportunities through Interact, leadership programs, youth exchange, speech contests, scholarships, mentoring, and Rotaract. These experiences help young people build confidence, develop leadership skills, and form lasting connections. By putting “Service Above Self” into action, students make a positive difference in our community and beyond.
