Fellow Rotarians,
It is with great pride that I deliver our weekly message with such positive accomplishments. Here I go again bragging… We had a tremendous lunch meeting on Wednesday with 22 attendees with our special guest of honor speaking to our club. District Governor, Len Gieseler addressed our members and really motivated and excited those in attendance. When spoke about the upcoming 2023 district Rotary conference which will be held at the Tropicana resort and casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey the first week of May. - more info to follow
I would also like to report that the Newtown Rotary club had major involvement in the annual 9/11 memorial event which was held on Friday evening at Pickering field… Many Rotarians participated in the committee to host the event and many more Rotarians attended in the audience, it was a tremendous joy to look out into the crowd to see so many Rotarians. The Newtown Rotary club was the catalyst in orchestrating this event and I was proud to be the recipient of a $10,700 check presentation benefiting shop with a cop. Our community came together once again for a wonderful cause.
We continue to build from within and I am pleased to announced we have upgraded our club runner account and we are now able to sign up volunteers and track everything electronically… We have gone paperless !!!
I also want to let our membership know that the Temperance House had no choice but to increase our weekly lunch from $16 to the new current price of $17. For everyone who pays via check or Venmo please take note.
I hope to see everyone again this Wednesday @ 12:15PM for lunch, we have a tremendous guest speaker… Warren Dallas of the Newtown Fire Association, I hear his presentation is full of history and facts.
Mick Petrucci, President Newtown Rotary Club Serving the community since 1953
