"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." — Helen Keller
Dear Rotarians,
It was my pleasure to stand before you on Wednesday in my first official meeting as your new President. My message for the Club as we move into the next year is around "United for Good". One of our goals will be to expand our reach to impact our community, country and world in a more significant manner. This will require strong volunteerism and trying some new things while we maintain our current strengths.
For instance, we will plan to partner with other community clubs like the Kiwanis and Lions Clubs who have the same shared vision as we do. We will continue to focus on our growing membership and will provide leadership opportunities for those who want to step up in a greater way. We have some new committees to highlight like our Greeters, Fun Committee and the Lower Bucks Action Committee and of course we will maintain all the wonderful committees we already have. We will also focus on some new service projects such as the Salvation Army, a Blood Drive, Rotoplast and an Epic Day of Giving on May 26 of next year. There is no shortage of opportunity to volunteer in any way you can.
I’d also like to congratulate our outgoing President, Debra Porter, as she received the "President's Award" during our lunch meeting this past week! This well-deserved award was to recognize Debra's many contributions to our Club over the past year and thank her appropriately. Thankfully, she plans to be an active member of our club so she’s not going anywhere!
Please note that July is focused on United Way’s “Tools for School” drive. Please see the flyer below and start collecting much needed school supplies for children in our community. Your generosity will enable students to have a strong start to the next school year which is so important. All of our donations will be collected at the “Camaraderie for a Cause” event on Thursday, July 31 from 5:30-7:00pm at the Green Parrot. Thank you in advance for starting your collections!
Our new year is off to a strong start for sure and I can't wait to see all the great things this club does in the coming year!
