Newtown Rotarians deliver "Angel Tree" gifts to Presbyterian Church
Saturday, December 15, 2012, Newtown. The Angel Tree project has been a community project for 27 years. Every Christmas, Individuals and families in need are identified and given an opportunity to submit a wish list for Christmas. Little paper angels are coded with specific gifts designated for specific anonimous individuals and the Newtown community is encouraged to pick angels (at the Newtown Library and the Newtown Post Office) and return them attached to the appropriate gifts.
The families are invited to a nice Holiday dinner and "Santa" distributes the gifts to the children.
Paul Salvatore, Immediate Past President, has been chairing this activity as long as I have been a Rotarian. Of note is the generosity of the community, as evidenced by the room full of gifts.
