The Intermezzo from Cavalieri Rusticana by Pietro Mascagni,
at the November 25th concert is being played in memory of Dr. Howard Leister
and in homage to his love of family, patients and community.
This popular musical work was a favorite of his.
Dr. Leister, a beloved family physician,
made his home in Newtown after finishing his
medical education and training in Philadelphia,
and his military service as a MASH doctor in Korea.
He dedicated his life to his profession
and is quite deserving of this honor.
