For over 20 plus years, The Rotary Club of Hillsborough Scholarship Program will once again provide financial support to five qualifying local students planning to extend their academic careers in college or vocational school.  Five scholarships of $1,000 - $2,000 will be awarded to students who are planning to attend a trade school (e.g. culinary, cosmetology) or college.

Three of the Rotary scholarships honor the community service of prominent Hillsborough residents A. Dix Skillman, Peter J. Biondi, and Michael Merdinger. One of the scholarships is reserved for a high school student serving in Interact, the Rotary-related service organization for high school students, and one scholarship is for a student attending a vocational trade school.

Scholarship applications and instructions can be obtained through the students’ school guidance counselors.  All applications are reviewed strictly on the basis of academic performance, community service and financial need.  Recipients will receive the scholarship checks from current Rotary Club of Hillsborough President, Greg Burchette, and Scholarship Committee Chairperson, Peter Passalacqua, at a special award ceremony to be held during of the Rotary Club’s regular weekly meeting.
