The meeting was convened at 6:30 at the Scituate Country Club.

Joe Kelley led The Pledge to the American Flag.

Dan Schmelzer gave the Invocation.

President Jamie Gilmore led the speaking of The Four Way Test.

President Jamie announced several "Save The Dates."

Lisa Tompson reported,  "The Trunk Sale was a lot of fun."  The promise of inclement weather kept some members from participating.

We had an impressive turnout at the MFA for the Premier showing of Passing The Baton. A great evening was enjoyed by all who attended.

President Jamie passed out copies of a letter detailing the goals of the Marshfield Rotary Pioneers under the auspices of Scituate Rotary. The next breakfast meeting at The Marshfield Tavern is scheduled for Thursday, October 6, at 8 am.  Jack Stebe is the coordinator for the Marshfield Christmas Tree Project, and Candace Cramer is the coordinator for The Scituate Christmas Tree Project.

Jeannie O'Donoghue will chair The Cushing Christmas Party at The Barker Tavern on December 7th at 6;00 pm.

Dan Schmelzer gave an interesting and informative update on the Capstone program in Kenya.  Dan, and his wife, Patty, are instrumental in helping Kenyan women market three products to benefit themselves  financially, a mosquito repellent soap, a healing ointment, and a tea from the moringa tree.   Dan had all of these items available for purchase at our Rotary meeting.  Dan also gave us an insider's view of the making of Passing The Baton.  Dan presented our club with a basket of "treasures" from Kenya.  As these are highly sought after items, the basket of treasures will be auctioned at next week's meeting to the highest bidder, and the earnings will go to Capstone as a part of Scituate Rotary's International Peace Efforts.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00.

 Respectfully submitted,

 Lois Brandes
