Kenya: Passing The Baton, highlights a people and a government working to create a united, civil society amid tribal tensions, corruption, complex social issues, and a severe drought in 2009. Rotary International and the Jesuit Hakimani Center in Nairobi are working with Kenyans as they attempt to establish a strong moral foundation set forth in their new guiding document, The Constitution,  Much hope and faith is placed in this new Constitution.

Following the film, four panelists, John Michalczyk, Dan Schmelzer, Raymond Helmick, and a native Kenyan interacted with the audience.  A group of young Kenyans were also in the audience and provided much insight into this initiative in Kenya.

Scituate Rotary is proud to be involved in this effort to achieve a fair and lasting peace in Kenya.
