The Queen of Hearts was postponed to next week. If the winner does not draw the queen, we will play twice.

Joe reported that we are waiting for the code number of The Shelter Box purchased during Heritage Days. This number will allow us to follow the box to its destination. Also, the picture of Scituate Rotary Club's Volunteer of the Year was published in The Mariner.

The Rotary Foundation 7950 Dinner is on Thursday, November 15th at 5:30 at Venus De Milo. Contact Jim Rassol at jamesrassol@comcast.net for tickets.

Our program speaker of the evening was Frank Judge representing Friend's of Scituate's Future, a community group dedicated to improving our town. Frank urged all Scituate residents to attend a town meeting on Tuesday, November 13th at 7:00 PM, and vote. He said that a YES vote will enable Scituate to access state funds for building or renovating Gates Middle School. He urged everyone to visit http://scituatesfuture.wordpress.com to learn all the facts and vote responsibly.

A delicious dinner and good fellowship was enjoyed by all.

The meeting adjourned at 8:00 PM, and club members struggled to their vehicles in the raging wind and rain, but it had been worth it all!

Respectfully submitted,
Lois Brandes
