Rotary Newsletter for June 24th, 2009

Attendees for the meeting were Dietrich, Janice, Lew, William, Candace, Arthur, Diane, and Bernie.  Our guests for the meeting were Lambert and Lois Brandis  We were all very happy to see Lambert and Lois, and are hoping they will soon be Rotary members.

 

This meeting was to be held at Bernie and Beverly's Tree Berry Farm.  Due to inclement weather the meeting was held at PJ's.

 

Diane stated that our Treasury is in good shape.  We have a balance of $1,174.00. 

Candace spoke about the South Shore Arts Center Member's Show form July 17th to August 30th.  All members are eligible to submit a piece of artwork that will be displayed at the show.

 

Arthur went to the Post Office on Wednesday to check on the phone book order that came in.  Phone Books are scheduled to be delivered on Friday and Saturday. Arthur's new book, "William J Cushing – Scituate's Favorite Son" will be ready for sale for "Heritage Days".  Arthur's new book is to be dedicated to Michael Kelly, Joe and Karen's son.

 

Rotary International's new President Kenney will be in attendance for the 100th Year Anniversary of Rotary in New England.  The event will be in Boxborough on July 18th.  Tickets are $50 each.  Please contact Diane if you would like to attend.

 

There will be no meeting next week in observance of the July 4th holiday.  Our next meeting will be on July 8th at the Scituate Country Club.  This will be the party for the installation of Candace as our new President!
