The regular weekly meeting of The Scituate Rotary Club was called to order at 6:30 at The Scituate Maritime Center with President-Elect, Joe Kelley, presiding.
The sixteen Scituate Rotary Club Members present were Dietrich Bilger, Lambert Brandes, Lois Brandes, William Clark, Candace Cramer, Jeannie Durkee, Walter Heller, Joe Kelley, John Miller, Bart Nuboer, Joan Powers, Janet Schmitz, Jack Stebe, Ben Summers, Mimi Svenning, and Bernie Westerveld.
Our seven guests were Linda Borror, Jack Borror, Kirsten Borror, Berta Eddy, Dan Eddy, Heidi Lange, and Lucille Sorrentino.
Joe Kelley led The Pledge to The American Flag.
Bart Nuboer offered the Invocation.
We are most fortunate to have had this beautiful location in which to hold our monthly, fundraiser, pot-luck dinner.
Jack Stebe made the contacts, and arranged for our club to have the space for the evening. Thank You, Jack. It's an incredible space and we love it!
Our Host, Richard Eckhoose, welcomed us, and gave us a brief history of how the Maritime Center came into being these past few years. It is most impressive.
An outstandingly delicious pot-luck dinner was served, and all were in high spirits. Huge thank -you's to all who contributed and brought their best offerings.
Cards were signed for Connie Mitchell and Judy Wainwright.
Joe Kelly reminded us of why we are having this fundraiser, and spoke briefly about the honor of having a governor-elect in our club. We are certainly proud of Dietrich.
Jack Stebe spoke about our Awards Meeting to be held on February 8th. The monies collected during The Giving Tree Project will be awarded to Scituate and Marshfield Charities. A representative from each group will be present to receive a check for their organization. All were encouraged to attend and take part in this missional meeting.
The meeting was adjourned promptly at 8:00pm.
