Meeting was held at Christ Lutheran Church, Scituate

Meeting was called to order by Debbie Wheeler, President at 6:30 PM

Debbie welcomed the guests: Nancy Durfee, 0ur speaker

Dinner:

Speaker: Nancy Durfee of the Scituate of The Coastal Advisory Commission. She is hired by Scituate Township. She thanked the Club for inviting her and for all Rotary does. She showed a video taken in March about the damage done by the Northeasters. She did this for the presentation to THEMA to show damage in Scituate to municipal buildings, land and Utilities damages. This was done with pictures and documentations to see if Scituate can be declared storm damage costs and be reimbursed by 75%. Residence use their insurance and see what help they can get from THEMA. . People can get help for damage and in elevating their homes but only if it was damage from the storms The group were taken around in a bus from The Senior Center to view the damages in different areas The video was pictures she had taken of areas along the shore before and after the Northeasters. She also had pictures taken by drones. It showed many sections of Scituate ( Seaside road where the sea wall had a break,; Minot & Glades, Musquashicut Pond, Egypt Beach, Oceanside Drive & Turner; Otis & Scituate Ave.; Rebecca and Lighthouse Rd; Scituate Harbor & Cole Parkway: Peggotty Beach and Humarock esp. 4th Cliff. It was the worse flooding we have had in Scituate. Many houses had major damage. The last storm we had many trees down.

Secretary: Joan passed around the clipping and picture of Scituate Police Chief Michael Stewart and Debbie Wheeler at the Rotary meeting on Feb. 28th. that was in the Scituate Mariner.

Debbie: The concert was successful Made $2250. She thanked all who had help make it a success.

Judy: said she went to Scituate Facts Coalition meeting on March 29 at the Scituate High School. Dr. Sion Kim Harris was the speaker. He talked about adolescent brain development on how the brain responds to alcohol and marijuana use. Teens are smoking and drinking less but many do binge drinking. Big problem is drugs. They are getting stronger and many cause people to overdose. It is a fact that all these effect the teenage minds and it can damage their memory and develop health issues. She suggested we could help the police with these issues.

Bernie: said he use to go to the FACTS meetings. Joan also use to go to the meetings.
