TODAY'S SPEAKER: Kim Thomas, Executive Director of Old Colony Habitat for Humanity.
The Old Colony Habitat for Humanity provides resources, guidance, and hope to aspiring families. These families work from within their neighborhoods, creating the change we all seek, and repaying the investment that we have made in them. Our service area comprise 23 towns from Bellingham (north) to Fall River (south), to Seekonk (west), to Raynham (east). The mission is to provide decent and affordable housing in partnership with families in need. Old Colony Habitat for Humanity is all of us working together, partnering with families to improve their housing, locally and around the world. Building strength, stability, and self reliance through shelter.
Kim has been the executive director for 3 years, prior to that she was the Vice President of Development at Justice Resource Institute from August 2014 through June of 2020, and she was President/Executive Director of New Hope from Nov of 2006 through July of 2014.
The current project is located at 16 Ridge Road in Norton. There are at least three other properties that will be coming on-line within the next year. She feels like this is such a successful organization because of her strong board members, the over 50 volunteers, the donations from area organizations, and the partnerships with local groups, like the Attleboro Rotary club.
