TODAY'S SPEAKER:
The Reverend Cheryl Harris is an ordained American Baptist preacher, retired pastor, consultant, and published author. Dedicated to the sacred work of building bridges across racial difference through dialogue, from inception in 2004, her consulting firm, Cheryl Harris and Associates, Inc. provides diversity, equity and inclusion consulting as well as leadership coaching to Fortune 500 companies and nonprofit organizations.
Rev. Cheryl collaboratively works with Neighbors in Dialogue, a group of Attleboro community organizations and residents committed to establishing a productive space for the community to have hard conversations and seek to understand one another around racial experiences. Rev. Cheryl Harris is currently a board member of the Center for Career Development and Ministry and The American Baptist Churches of MA, School of Ministry. Most recently she served for two terms on the leadership team of the American Baptist Churches Ministers Council and is the past president of the Conference of Baptist Ministers of Massachusetts. In 2020, Rev. Cheryl retired as pastor of the First Baptist Church in Attleboro.
Known throughout the New England area for her pointed and dynamic approach to diversity, equity and inclusion consulting, Harris shares her thoughts in her newly released book Divinity, Diversity, Dialogue: Listening and Learning Our Way To the Beloved Community. The book is accompanied by a workbook that allows her tried and tested facilitation method to be accessible to facilitators of group dialogues looking to lead effective and transformative change.
