Julie Hobson was born and raised in North Attleboro, MA. In high school, she began working part-time for Plainville Machine Works, Inc., a manufacturing company in Plainville. While continuing her education, she advanced over the years to become the Office Manager. Julie found herself starting anew in 2013 upon the closing of Plainville Machine, after working 23 years in the private industry. That same year she began working in the Collector/Treasurer and Assessor’s offices for the Town of Plainville.  It was then that she discovered a profound interest in the field of assessing, and began the course work required to become a Massachusetts Assessor. When the opportunity arose in 2015, she became the Deputy Assessor in the City of Attleboro. While working as the deputy, she completed the requirements and became Massachusetts Accredited Assessor number 1281 in 2017. She has been the Chief Assessor for the City of Attleboro since 2019.
