From September 21-28, 2025, Bridgewater honored its designation as an International City of Peace through a vibrant week of community programming. Led by Bridgewater Rotary Club in partnership with BCCR, First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, Social Justice Choir, Martin Richard Institute, Bridgewater Methodist Church, Bridgewater Public Library, BSU Library, Cedar Street, and Minnock Institute, the celebration brought residents together around shared values of peace and understanding. Highlights included the rededication of the Peace Pole, inspiring performances by the Social Justice Choir, a screening and discussion of "Vow from Hiroshima," and a thought-provoking presentation on nuclear weapons in outer space. The week also featured a Peace Vigil, Children's Story Hour, Chalk Art Festival, special worship services, and origami crane packets at both public and university libraries.

This program was funded in part by a grant from the Bridgewater Cultural Council, which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
