Tucson Kino Rotary was proud to present a check to the Mulcahy City YMCA to purchase 60 books for an innovative Summer Reading Challenge for up to 20 children ages 8 to 12.
Children who are not exposed to reading during summer vacation regress in their abilities to comprehend and retain learning from the previous school year. Under this new, innovative program, twice a week, the Mulcahy YMCA will "have children discuss where they are in the current  book and participate in themed activities such as arts and crafts, dramatic play and games that go along with the book to make the program fun and engaging,"
Receiving the check from Tucson Kino Rotarians David Fawcett and Debbie Haddock
were YMCA staffers Nico Alvarado and Brittany Trang.
