At American Eat Company, Tucson Kino Rotarians were very excited to welcome four Minnesota Rotarians and/or spouses to our meeting on Friday, February 14,Valentine's Day.
l-r, Sheri and Don Johnston, Joan Fawcett,
Dan and Karen Stanley (Dan is President)
Sheri Johnston, one of the visitors said, "Kino Rotarians are the
friendliest I have ever met!"
They are from the Prior Lake Minnesota Rotary Club. Kino presented them with gift bags containing Arizona-related items such as Cowboy Poetry T-shirts, pecans, prickly pear suckers and jam and, of course, bottles of AZ-themed water! The Minnesotans presented us with Pearson's Nut Rolls, made in St. Paul, MN; Minnesota-grown wild rice; and donuts and cookies from a great Prior Lake bakery. Member Emma Carrillo gave sweet Valentines to all.
All of us then participated in a service project to package and tag pairs of children's pajamas and a book for Angel Heart Pajama Project (AHPP).

Tucson Kino Rotary presented the AHPP Executive Director, Patti Lopez, with a Paul Harris Fellowship. This award recognizes a community member who has made a difference in the lives of people.
AHPP has gifted over 27,000 sets of pajamas and books through 76 partner agencies across southern Arizona. These go to children in living in foster care and homeless shelters. Tucson Kino Rotary has been a supporter for many years and two of the founders, Maria Patterson and Marty Croissant, are Kino members.

Other activities Kino and Prior Lake Rotarians enjoyed included visiting the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, sightseeing atop "A" Mountain, attending the Tucson Rodeo (La Fiesta de los Vaqueros where we made some new rodeo fans!), and dinners at Pinnacle Peak and Guadalajara's. Yes, they got their ties cut-off at Pinnacle Peak!
