The 3rd Annual Yarmouth Youth Street Art Festival is set for Memorial Day weekend,  May 29th from 12-4 with a rain date of Monday, May 30th.  Once again it will be held at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod. The festival invites young artists from across the Cape to come together to create one of a kind masterpieces in chalk on pavement, or with acrylic paint on junk cars. There is also a mural project led by local artists who work with young artists to create their own masterpiece on a large white van.  Admission is free to participate and admire the works in progress.  Art supplies are provided to all participants.  All projects are available for sponsorship. There will be food and music to create a festival atmosphere.

This year the popular junk car painting will include middle school students with an adult leader to create their masterpiece alongside high school students.  The number of cars is limited so register your group early.

Sponsorships opportunities include $50 for a part of the multi-sponsored van mural project, $100 for a pavement chalk project and $250 for a junk car painting project.  You can bring your own artist or one will be supplied.   See Bianca or Marianne for additional information or go to www.yarmouthstreetartfestival.com for sponsor and artist registration forms.

Profits from the festival will provide funding for art & literacy projects of the Yarmouth Rotary Club including the 5th grade geographic literacy project, and other community “Good Works” projects. This project will provide ongoing funding to a program of maintaining and acquiring band and orchestral instruments for students in the Yarmouth Elementary Schools music education program.
