Rotary Sydney has registered a new project with RAWCS to support the Kyiv Geriatric Boarding House in Ukraine which currently hosts over 180 elderly people including over 50 refugees from the war-impacted areas around Kyiv and Eastern Ukraine. In addition, more than half of residents have mobility issues. The house is on the verge of not having a sustainable source of heating and electricity for the upcoming winter and beyond. The project aims to raise funds to initially secure individual space heaters, a generator, and supplies such as blankets, nappies, and essential medications to support the house this winter. As a longer term goal, the project will facilitate the installation of an independent heating and hot water system for the facility.
