At a time when our nation is facing tough economic times Rotary is able to help those in need.
The Montgomery Village Rotary Club (MVRC) has been very involved with food and clothing drives plus assisting the local food banks facing record demand in the area.
MVRC members participate in the annual Salvation Army's Bell Ringing program at Lakeforest Mall. Members enjoy greeting shoppers at the Mail entrance, sing Christmas carols and encourage shoppers to support the Salvation Army's mission of "Doing the Most Good".
The MVRC continues to participate in the Montgomery County Adopt-A-Road program. Several times each year, the MVRC members collect discarded trash and other items along a 1 mile stretch of Montgomery Village Avenue from Sunrise toward Appleridge Road.
In the Fall of 2012, the MVRC established its first Community Shredding Event as a joint partnership with the Montgomery Village Foundation. Additional community shredding events have occurred in the Spring and Fall of each year since that time.
