David Trone is an American success. Born in Cheverly, Maryland, David spent his childhood feeding hogs and cleaning chicken pens on a struggling family farm, and showing animals at local fairs as a member of the 4H.  He went to graduate school on student loans and opened his first store during his second semester.  From one store, Total Wine & More has become the largest independent wine retailer in the United States, with 6,000 team members in 172 stores across 22 states and $2.7 billion in annual revenue.  Their national headquarters and two stores are here in Maryland.

David believes that with success comes an obligation to pay it forward. Total Wine & More leads their industry in wages and benefits for workers, and were among the first to offer partner benefits and to ban the box on employment applications.  Total Wine has contributed over $50 million to charities, and David and June are incredibly generous philanthropists as well.  David Trone is a major supporter of progressive causes in Maryland and nationwide.

David and June live in Potomac and have four adult children.

Kathy was born on a small town outside of Wilkes Barre, PA in 1951 and was born and raised there. She attended Misericordia University graduating in 1973. She graduated from Drexel University in 1975 with a Master of Science Degree in Nutrition. From Drexel she too a full time position as a Staff Nutritionist at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia.

At U of P she met John, a resident in Obstetrics & Gynecology. They married in 1978. They have 2 sons and 4 grandsons. In 1978 they moved the Washington, D.C. area where John entered private practice.

While raising her children Kathy had a private Nutrition Practice and did Corporate Wellness Programs for AT&T, The World Bank, Fannie Mae and other corporations.

In 1999 there came a turning point for Kathy when she found a lump in her breast and was diagnosed with an early stage Breast Cancer. This kick started a journey to learn how the body healed and stayed well without harm or side effect. She looked for alternatives to The Western Medical approach which had many side effects. This became a Mind Body Spirit journey and still is.

Her Ultimate revelation came the day a dear friend told her about ASEA. When her husband, John researched it he knew it was what humanity and the medical community had been waiting for. After they experienced remarkable results themselves they knew that they had to share the technology with others to Pay it Forward. Kathy & John live in Clarksburg, MD where they have been residents for 15 years. Kathy is on the Board of The Clarksburg Chamber of Commerce and an active member of her community.

Dr. Karlsberg developed the ‘Relationship Turnaround System’ and received the Georgetown University’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. He has over 30 years of experience helping executives, professionals, and business leaders get better outcomes in their personal and business relationships. His method has been published in professional journals, and he has taught this approach to audiences of relationship counselors throughout the United States, including: at the International Conference of The Psychology of Health, Immunity, and Disease, and at The Carrier Foundation where he taught relationship counselors how to apply his system to dual-carrier couples. Dr. Karlsberg is a former officer with the U.S. Marines -- this background helps us understand why nothing about his system is touchy-feely. Instead, he provides concrete, precision-targeted, relationship strategies.

Nina Blecher has lived in Montgomery County since she was 4 years old.  After graduating college with a degree in Music and Education, she, like many music majors, found herself employed in the computer field, eventually becoming an IT consultant in systems development and programming.  Still, she continued teaching music to children privately and in preschools.

In 2008, Nina found that she had some gaps in her schedule and found a job opening at The Tree House for an IT consultant.  It was perfect, a job in the IT world for an organization that helped children. Over the years at The Tree House her job slowly expanded from IT support to community outreach, event planning and providing a social media presence for The Tree House.  As Nina got to know the professionals who treat the children, and the children themselves, Nina realized the importance of the work done at The Tree House.  That is why she is here to speak with you today.
