2021-22 Rotarian of the Year Award

Being a member of a Rotary club does not make someone a Rotarian, it only makes them a member of a club.  A Rotarian helps the club achieve its goals and acts with high ethical standards.  A Rotarian also participates in the club’s community projects both locally and internationally.

Due to the issues of the Covid years and only getting together via hybrid meetings, this presentation was unable to happen in the 2021-2022 season. Not forgotten, we finally made the presentation in person at the June 29th, 2023 Breakfast Meeting. Gord was nominated for this Award in the 2021-2022 season for all his work that he does as our International Director and Community Services Director. Gord is so proud of Alondra and Project Amigo, a project that he has spearheaded in Manzanillo, Mexico in the past and still continues to do so.

If there is any event going on, whether we are doing 50/50 tickets sales or a golf tournament, you can be sure that Gord has been there to get the tent set up and to make sure he has stocked the coolers with water and made sure we have plenty of granola bars, our reusable grocery bags and membership flyers! Thank you Gord for all you have done in the past and still continue to do so, your work has been invaluable and much appreciated!

2020-21 Rotarian of the Year

I had no problem deciding who in our club was the most worthy of this award for the 2020-21 Rotary year.  This member has gone above and beyond the realm of Rotary service and I have full confidence that my decision was one that all of the club's membership agreed with.

On June 24, 2021 at our Turnover Meeting, I was pleased to announce that our club’s Rotarian of the Year for 2020-21 is:

Kasey Kozicky

To present the award to Kasey at his home while we Zoomed in to watch was the previous Rotarian of the Year winner, Jacquie Olsen.  As we could not be together in person, I thought it only fitting that Jacquie should hand the plaque on to Kasey.

In recognition of Kasey's outstanding demonstration of Service Above Self; principled commitment to the 4-Way Test; contributions to the mission and operation of our club through each of the Rotary Avenues of Service; and for promoting Rotary by your actions and involvement, I was pleased to thank him for his service on behalf of a grateful club.  It was my honour to lead the membership to raise our glasses in a toast to Kasey!
