History of The Rotary Club of Nisku-Leduc

The Rotary Club of Nisku-Leduc was chartered November 7, 1991. It was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Edmonton Strathcona with guiding Rotarians Ron McCullough & Morley MacCalder. The club has been growing strong and operating very well since then.

In addition to District and International Rotary initiatives, our local chapter is immersed in various projects that grow and add value to our many communities within Nisku & Leduc`s geographic footprint. New energy and new projects are regularly undertaken to enhance the lives of others, young and old, through a spirit of service above self.

Rotarians are actively engaged all year around in various service and fundraising projects that support Rotary's objectives and goals.  Members enjoy gathering together in a variety of social events, such as Guess Who`s Coming for Dinner, Integrity Awards, Christmas Parties, an annual Lobsterfest that includes a silent auction fund-raiser, Presidential Turn-over Dinner and Rotary Golf Tournaments.

If you are interested in making a difference, networking and building friendships in the community join us as a guest at a breakfast club meeting on Thursdays at 7:15 am at RedTail Landing Golf Course.  Phone Grant Leach for more information  780-719-7877 or send us an email at nlrotary@shaw.ca

History of Rotary

Rotary started with the vision of one man — Paul Harris. The Chicago attorney formed the Rotary Club of Chicago on February 23, 1905, so professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships.

Over time, Rotary’s reach and vision gradually extended to humanitarian service. Members have a long track record of addressing challenges in their communities and around the world.

Our Ongoing Commitment

"Whatever Rotary may mean to us, to the world it will be known by the results it achieves".

Rotary founder

Still Making History

That commitment endures today through an organization that remains truly international. Only 16 years after being founded, Rotary had clubs on six continents. Our members now span the globe, working to solve some of our world’s most challenging problems.

We’re not afraid to dream big and set bold goals. We began our fight against polio in 1979 with a project to immunize 6 million children in the Philippines. Today, polio remains endemic in only two countries — down from 125 in 1988.

Rotary’s Two Official Mottoes
  • Service Above Self
  • One Profits Most Who Serves Best
