The Paul Harris Award is an honor given by Rotary International to recognize people who have contributed to Rotary's ideals. The award is named after Paul Harris, one of Rotary's founders.
How does the award work?
- Rotary clubs can award the award to anyone they deem worthy, whether or not they are a Rotarian.
- The recipient is known as a Paul Harris Fellow.
- The award includes a certificate, a pin, and a citation.
- The recipient's name is included on a donation of $1,000 or more to Rotary International's Annual Program Fund.
Why is the award given?
- To honor people who have contributed to Rotary's Annual Fund, PolioPlus, or an approved Foundation grant
- To recognize people who have contributed to Rotary's ideals of service above self
- To recognize people who have supported the community, whether locally, nationally, or internationally
